「A Nice, Healthy ➊Whine」
Oh my gosh, people can be so rude, right? Like, I'm just doing my job like everyone else, you know? And I mean, OK, sure, most people at least try to hide it, but I can totally see that ➋look in their eyes when my owner reaches for me. It's like, “Ugh, ➌not her again!” Then they sit there with their hands ➍clawing at the arms of the chair. I mean, seriously. I'm only making a little, tiny hole in them. You'd think they were dying or something.
➎Not to mention the awful things they say about my voice. I mean they ➏compare me to everything from whining mosquitoes to ➐fingernails on a ➑chalkboard! How would they like it if I compared their voice to those things? I mean, I'm sorry I don't sound like a pretty little ... like ... ➒robin or something. But the worst part is that I'm doing this all for them, right?
I mean, like, literally for the good of their health! And my owner is going to fill those holes again anyway. So what's the problem? I'm sorry, what? You know, you really shouldn't ➓mumble. Oh! And that's the other thing. So many people just mumble? ... when I'm trying to talk to them. I mean, do they think it's easy for me to work inside their wet, ⓫goopy mouths? The least they could do is ⓬make an effort! There I am, using my tiny spinning tip to clear away all that ⓭disgusting ⓮rotten enamel, and they can't even, like, talk to me?
Well, ah, now, that's better. See? That rotten part is all cleared out and ready for a ⓯filling. You know? It has been so great talking to you!

まったく、本当に失礼な人っているわよねえ？だって、私はみんなと同じように自分の仕事をしているだけでしょう？だから、ええ、確かに、たいていの人は少なくともそれを隠そうとはしているけどね、でもご主人さまが私に手を伸ばすときのあの目つきではっきりとわかるわ。「あぁ、もうやめてくれ！」って感じなの。しかも座っている椅子の肘掛けを両手で爪を立ててつかんでいるんだから。冗談抜きでよ。私は小さな、とっても小さな穴を開けているだけなのに。まるで死にそうな騒ぎよ。
もちろん私の声についても、ひどいことを言われるわ。というのも、蚊のプーンという音から黒板を爪で引っかく音まで、あらゆるものに例えるのよ！あの人たちの声を私があんなものの音に例えたら、どう思うかしらね？もちろん、申し訳ないとは思うのよ、私の声がかわいい小さな・・・そうね・・・コマドリなんかみたいじゃなくてね。だけどいちばんひどいのは、そもそも私がしていることはすべてみんなのためでしょ？とにかく、文字どおりみんなの健康のためなのよ！それに私のご主人さまがその穴をどうせまた埋めるんだし。だから、いったい何が問題なのかしら？
ごめんなさい、なんですって？ねえ、本当にモゴモゴ言わないでよ。ああ！それもあるのよね。モゴモゴとしか言わない人がなんて多いのかしら？・・・私が話し掛けようとするときによ。つまり、あの人たちの濡れた、ねばねばした口の中で働くのが簡単だとでも思ってるの？少なくとも努力することぐらいできるでしょう！私はそこで、回転する小さな先端を使って、あのとっても不快な腐ったエナメル質をすべて取り除いているのに、あの人たちときたら私に口も利けないの？
まあ、これでよくなったわ。ほら、腐った部分が全部なくなって、これで詰め物を入れられるわね。ところで、あなたとおしゃべりできて楽しかったわ！
