Microsoft of the US announced on the 30th that it will enhance the artificial intelligence (AI) suggestion function in its business software “Office.”

In “Word,” more comprehensible sentences will be suggested, and in “PowerPoint,” designs that match the content will be recommended.

As more and more people work remotely at home due to restrictions on going out caused by the spread of the novel coronavirus infection , the company will expand services that will lead to work efficiency .

In word-processing software “Word,” “rewriting” options with better expressions for words in the text are shown.

For example , in the case of the idiom “gentleman’s agreement ,” “unwritten agreement ,” which can be used regardless of gender, will be suggested as a rewriting option .

Spelling errors will also be pointed out.

At first , the service will start in English and it is planned to be available in more than 20 languages including Japanese in the future .

The same function will be available in software such as e-mail software “ Outlook .”

In presentation software “PowerPoint,” based on inferences from words and the like used in slides, design background and illustrations that seem to match the content will be suggested.

A function to record presentation practice and to make AI give advice on the speech speed or if there are too many unnecessary utterances such as “ah” will also be included.

新型コロナウイルスの感染 拡大 に伴う外出制限で在宅勤務をする人が増えるなか、仕事の 効率化 につながるサービスを拡充する。

文書作成に使う「ワード」では、文章中の表現に対してより良い「書き換え」の 候補 を示す。

例えば「gentleman’s agreement （紳士協定）」という熟語の場合、性別を意識させない「unwritten agreement 」を書き換え 候補 として 提案する 。

つづりの誤りも 指摘 する。

まず英語でサービスを始め、将来は日本語も含めて20以上の言語に対応する計画だ。

メールソフトの「アウトルック」などでも同じ機能を利用できるようにする。
